Hope for the
Providing Support for
Interstitial Lung Diseases Characterized by Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Mission Statement for the Hope for the Breath-less Charity
The Mission of the Hope for the Breath-less Foundation is to provide funding for translational research in the area of Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD) specifically Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). Funding of research will provide the ability to work on new interventions and medicines to help slow down the progression of fibrosis allowing more time to find a cure. Then clinical scientists can be funded to take the basic scientists’ findings to patients. This research process called “from Bench to Bedside” is expected to accelerate discoveries and the development of novel drugs to improve outcomes. A secondary objective will be provided to provide patients who have exhausted all other avenues to help with medical bills. Education of the general public regarding IPF will be part of the charity’s ongoing efforts.
Vision Statement for the Hope for the Breath-less Charity
Our vision is that a cause can be found, new medicines developed and a cure for IPF will come about from the charity’s funding of scientific research. Additionally, our hope is that this research will translate to other Interstitial Lung Diseases; thus, providing a multifaceted positive outcome for those suffering from destructive lung diseases.
